With more than 200,000 Instagram followers, the Mahomes dogs
Brittany, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs player Patrick Mahomes, shared the history of their two dogs.
Brittany claims that even though the Mahomes have two children, it feels like four because of her pets.

“I mean, they’re basically our 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren,” Brittany told People.
“I consider us having four kids.”
Patrick and Brittany have a son named Patrick and a daughter named Sterling.
When Patrick got Brittany a dog for college, they were dog parents before they were ever parents.
“In fact, I acquired Steel during my time in college. When I was a junior, Patrick got him for me as a Valentine’s Day present,” Brittany remarked.
Before Patrick was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs, Brittany disclosed that she was a supporter of a different NFL team, which is how her dog received its name.
“Well, that’s a great story—I actually used to be a Steelers fan, which is how I got the name Steel,” Brittany remarked.
A few years after acquiring Steel, the Mahomes family brought Silver home as their second dog.
“I believe it happened in 2018, following Patrick’s rookie season in the league. We made the decision to add one more, Brittany stated.
She said she has always had a dog around and that the puppies are “wild and full of energy.”

Since I can remember, I’ve always had a dog in the house, Brittany remarked.
“I’ve grown up with dogs because even after my parents divorced, they both ended up getting pets. I have always had dogs in my homes.
Brittany is an expert with dogs, but to keep their friends under control, she and Patrick consult celebrity dog trainer Tom Davis.
Brittany remarked, “We’ve been working with Tom for a few years, and he’s the best fit for our family and dogs.”
Given how difficult Silver was to handle, I would estimate that it was either 2019 or 2020. A friend of ours who also used Tom introduced us to him at that point.
“And ever since, we’ve been utilising him.”
Every now and again, the Mahomes family takes Davis to Kansas City to work with Steel and Silver. According to Davis, the action “just shows how much they love and care about dogs.”
“What makes them both so adorable to me is that they could easily write off a lot of things if they so desired, but they choose not to.”
Brittany keeps a dog-focused Instagram profile where she shares updates and adorable photos of her pets.
On Instagram, Steel and Silver have amassed over 200,000 followers.
