‘I’ve got to ask Tay about that’: Travis Kelce laughs at girlfriend Taylor Swift getting ‘Punk’d’ by Justin Bieber in 2012 – as comedian Andrew Santino reveals all about pranking the singer

Travis Kelce claimed to have “bought” the practical joke at the time his girlfriend Taylor Swift was pranked on MTV’s “Punk’d” in 2012.

In the episode, Swift, then 22 years old, accepted Justin Bieber’s invitation to work on music in his Malibu beach house. Swift and Bieber lit off fireworks beside the water during her stay.

The best part of the joke was when they made it seem as though Swift ignited a firecracker while hosting a wedding, causing a boat to catch fire.

Comedian Andrew Santino, who also took part in the practical joke, was told by Kelce, “I’ll see if she was trying to sell it or not,” on New Heights. “I bought it as soon as I saw it.”

Santino remembered, “There was a wedding party [on board].” “I was the groom, and we blamed her for ruining our wedding as we dinghy-ed to shore with our boat on fire.”

Santinto maintained that Swift “bought it,” despite Kelce saying, “I’ve got to ask Tay about it.” Additionally, Santino described the joke as “the perfect bit that worked.”

Swift gave off a sincere worried expression during the scene and tried to console the “bride,” believing that she was the reason the celebration had ended so disastrously.

Swift told Bieber, “You’re the worst,” and then described the experience as “incredibly traumatic and brilliant,” after realizing it was all a prank.

Santino continued, “Some of the parts were so crazy they didn’t work.” But the reason hers was so outstanding was the sheer number of components that came together. That isn’t how they always come together.

Swift said at the time to CMT Insider that she wasn’t “really that girl,” raising the question of whether the 14-time Grammy winner intends to get Bieber back for the encounter.

“He is overly intelligent.” I could never hit him with a punch. Like, he would figure it out, then reverse the situation so that Justin would win and Taylor would lose.
