Two NFL power couples squared off on Sunday night as Taylor Swift watched from the stands as Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens got away with assaulting Travis Kelce in the final play of Kansas City’s defeat to the Green Bay Packers.
.
With just seconds remaining, quarterback Patrick Mahomes dropped back to try a Hail Mary pass into the end zone as the Chiefs trailed 27-19.
It appeared as though Packers safety Owens gave the Chiefs tight end a two-handed shove in the back, even though Kelce was one of his intended targets.
It appeared as though Packers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell took Kelce by the arm a short while later.
Nevertheless, neither event was flagged since Green Bay’s victory was certain and the ball was brought down.
Superstar partners of Owens and Kelce were in attendance: gymnast Biles cheered on Owens and the Packers, while Swift and Brittany Mahomes watched the game together.
A few supporters in Green Bay had placards saying they were there to see Biles, not Swift, making fun of the rival power couple.
After the game, commentators disagreed about whether or not to raise the flag for contact on the play. On the other hand, pass interference calls should normally be avoided during a Hail Mary.
Kelce led the Chiefs in yardage at the end of the game after catching four passes for 81 yards.
Rather than the eight-time Pro Bowl tight end, Chiefs rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice led the team in receptions with eight catches for 64 yards at the end of the game.
On the other hand, Owens ended the game tied for third place among the Packers’ tacklers after recording five stops during the contest.
The decision by the referees not to call plays involving Owens and Kelce was not the only thing that the Chiefs and their supporters questioned.
Minutes earlier in the drive, following a lengthy incompletion to wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, the team had requested a pass interference flag.
