Currently, they are dispersed across the country in at least eight households. The advertisement refers to the two-story home as a “Napa Modern” residence and states that it was built entirely new on speculative land last year. Its interior size is over 10,000 square feet. The Smiths paid approximately $1 million less than the original $12.2 million asking price to obtain the keys to the estate. The estate was built on speculative grounds and completed in early 2020. It has been up for sale since June of last year.

The 1.2-acre home is tucked away behind a lengthy road at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac. It is perched on a ridge with views over a good chunk of the San Fernando Valley.

Among the modern amenities within the all-neutral interiors are a double-height entryway with sightlines across the entire house, an open kitchen with two islands and a spacious pantry, a soundproof movie theater with velvet walls, and a game room with a wet bar. There is a gym with a steam room on its own, a formal dining area with a refrigerated wine closet wrapped in glass, and much more.

A built-in refrigerator, a coffee bar, two dressing rooms, a sitting space, and a fireplace are also features of the upstairs principal suite. The six bedrooms in the house each have an en suite bathroom. Perfect for outdoor entertaining are the stone loggias outside, which connect to an integrated spa and an infinity-edged pool with a BBQ.

A full-size sports court, a seating area for the campfire, and a space designated as a “serenity lounge” are also located in the backyard. It’s surprising that the property doesn’t have much landscaping or even a big grassy garden; the mansion is surrounded by just a few trees. But the Smiths should be able to reduce their maintenance costs as a result.

The next owners will probably employ an interior designer to update the opulent rooms of the house to something more contemporary. The couple’s $42 million mega-estate outside of Calabasas, which has served as their main residence for many years, was featured in Architectural Digest for its odd furniture, rich hues, and interior design distinctly inspired by Morocco.
